Don’t throw away shipping supplies: the family carton

Number Of Participants: 1

Every time I get a parcel I keep the carton. Every time I get a letter I keep the envelope.

I think that’s one of the easiest ways to do something for nature: Just reuse old shipping supplies. They are quite expensive to buy new, so it’s a relief for your wallet as well. In my family there is even a special carton that we use for years now – it’s a real stable and pretty one with a nice flower pattern and a good size for most things.

When I think about my childhood I think about sitting on the branches of the old apple tree in our garden and reading books about animals. Now grown up I spend my time working as a philologist, walking the dogs of the nearby animal sanctuary and exploring our beautiful German forests.

Great idea that everyone should try to do! You can do this with all kinds of packaging, including plastic (which then helps keep it out of the dump and environment). I’ve reused boxes/packaging many times over – if you are careful with them, they can last years. This really has a positive environmental impact. 🙂
