Upcycle what you love: the most beautiful table

Once I fell in love. With a table. A beautiful solid wood table with turned legs.

Unfortunately it was what we call an “attic trove” and in a very bad condition. I bought it anyway because I wanted to support our local social store. The next weekend I spend with polishing and coating (and sweating and cursing), but the result was brilliant. You may not see it properly in the picture, but my little attic table turned out to be a real beauty: a nice whisky like shade, green drawer buttons and a little bit of imperfection. Literally everybody asks me about it when visiting our home.

Conclusion: Be courageous, everybody can do upcycling.

Create a log pile in your garden

You can encourage all sorts of animals to your garden by creating log piles. From birds, beetles, frogs and even hedgehogs, you’ll create an animal haven.
If you have a trail camera, try popping it down next to your pile and see what visitors you have!

Make a bumblebee house

You can create all kinds of bumble bee houses throughout your garden – different species prefer different areas – some high up, some low down and even underground! Try recycling an old flower pot to create an underground haven: upturn your pot and make two small entrance holes (top and bottom), place a little soil around the edges and a little nesting material inside.

To encourage bees and other insects to your garden, see some of our other iDot ideas!
